Many if not all of our partners and clients will be participating in #GivingTuesday. When researching this post I was surprised to learn we’ve only been doing this for 4 years – doesn’t it seem like a well-established tradition already?
While Community IT Innovators participates in #GivingTuesday primarily as donors, we like to keep abreast of the technology innovations that empower secure mobile giving, the growth of international cyber Monday and #GivingTuesday, and other IT support issues our clients may encounter on the biggest giving day of the year.
This year we are interested to see how the new real-time dashboard streaming donation data Blackbaud and Microsoft are promising to present tomorrow turns out – you can check it out at https://www.blackbaud.com/givingtuesday#
You can read more about #GivingTuesday technology initiatives in this wrap up of various press releases on PRnewswire.
For analysis and post-giving reports, check out the Case Foundation blog. From last year’s data: According to a report released by the Case Foundation, which includes data from Blackbaud as well as DonorPerfect, GlobalGiving, Network for Good and Razoo, an estimated total of $45.7 million was raised both offline and online on Giving Tuesday this year (2014). Total donations grew by 63%. (source: Mashable.com)
