The Episcopal Center for Children is a private, non-profit, non-denominational day treatment facility for emotionally troubled children and their families from the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. The program is designed for children between the ages of five to thirteen. Acceptance is based on the needs of the child and his family, regardless of religious affiliation, race or the financial status of the family. The goal of the ECC treatment, therapeutic milieu, and individualized special education program is to enable each child to function productively within the family, school and community.
For over 120 years, The Episcopal Center for Children has been serving children – first as a convalescent home for sick children, then as an orphanage, then as a residential facility for emotionally troubled children and for the last fifty years, as a day treatment program for troubled children.
The ECC believes in children, their strengths and in what they can be, not in their past inadequacies and failures. The goal is to enable each child to return to public school and the community while being able to re-engage with his or her family and have a real opportunity for a successful, emotionally healthy and a productive future.
Community IT is so pleased to be partnering with the Episcopal Center for Children.
