Many organizations are looking to SharePoint to provide easier access to documents, more robust collaboration and sharing capabilities, versioning, and dynamic records management. These are all features that can benefit most organizations, and are beyond the capacity of the traditional file server.
In this webinar follow up to the April 2016 discussion of planning a migration to SharePoint, Abdul Musa and Johanny Torrico delve into the basics of going through with an implementation. They will provide a robust methodology based on standard Information Architecture (IA) principles for successfully assessing and migrating organizational documents to SharePoint.
To begin to build your new Information Architecture, you must really understand your content. What files does your organization generate? Our methodology will help you draw up an outline of the content types in your organization. A few of our techniques to do this are:

abdulAbdul Musa assists clients with evaluating and planning their IT infrastructure to fit their unique organizational needs. He also supports the IT networks of several Community IT clients. He joined Community IT in February 2003. Abdul values working at Community IT because of the culture of participatory decision-making and technical collaboration that exists with colleagues.
He is a Microsoft Certified Partner and is A+ certified. Abdul worked for three years at the George Washington University Information Systems and Services department before joining Community IT. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.S. in Engineering Management from George Washington University. Abdul enjoys playing soccer when he has time and is a Manchester United fan.
Johanny4Johanny Torrico joined Community IT in December 2006 after serving as Director of Technology for The National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA) for nearly four years. During her tenure at Community IT, Johanny has mastered every role she took on including network administrator, network engineer, and service manager. She is currently Vice President of Operations, leading the largest team at Community IT.  And she still enjoys providing technical support to our clients, participating in our professional services team, and implementing technical solutions.
Johanny holds a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. She is a VMWare Certified Professional and recently became a Microsoft Certified IT Professional for Office 365.
