As 2015 draws to a close, I have been reflecting on change in the nonprofit sector, the technology industry and here at Community IT. In July our Founder and CEO David Deal transitioned to our strategic planning partner, Build Consulting.
We hired 5 new staff, a new record for us as a company. After 14 years on U Street, we completed our first full year at our new office space downtown.
We welcomed nearly two dozen new customers including the Capital Area Food Bank, Class Acts Arts, Detention Watch Network, The Episcopal Center for Children, National Catholic Development Conference, National Head Start Association, and Rosslyn BID just to name a few.
It remains a great honor and privilege for us to be able to support organizations doing such positive work in our community and world.
Looking ahead, we continue to be encouraged and optimistic about what the future holds. Our entire company of 36 employee owners and Community IT Board just wrapped up a collaborative effort to develop our 5 Year Vision and our goals for 2016. I have been amazed and inspired by the level of commitment and insight of our staff.
Technology continues to be a source of inspiration and excitement for us. In particular, we remain focused on helping our clients realize all the benefits that the cloud can offer. We love to continue sharing our knowledge and experience through our blog posts and free webinar series.
In January, our first free webinar of 2016 will review security threats to nonprofits, and ways even the smallest organizations are targeted. I invite you to join us January 21st from 4-5pm EST to learn about the dark side of the internet and ways you can layer your security measures to deflect these attacks.
Are you interested in something we haven’t covered yet? Send us a message and let us know! We always welcome ideas for future webinar topics. You can reach us through our Contact page, or on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, where you can also keep up to date with the latest. If you and I aren’t connected on LinkedIn please send me an invite – I post additional links and articles to our growing nonprofit technology community there.
I wish you all a wonderful holiday season and look forward to connecting in the New Year.
Warm regards,
Johan
