Our Help Desk team ended the year on a very high note by receiving the Help Desk Institute team certification award, which we presented at our holiday party. HDI is an international professional association and certification body for the technical service and support industry. We are so proud to congratulate our Help Desk team on this achievement, and we are committed to continuing to provide outstanding customer service and maintaining our level of certifications.

We’ll be at the 16NTC conference in San Jose CA from March 23-25th – will you? Community IT is a big supporter of the NTEN nonprofit technology community and we always enjoy presenting at NTC. After December 15th the cost to attend will rise by $100. If you are undecided, you can contact us for more information on whether this conference is right for your organization and staff.

The proposed rule would require nonprofit organizations that opt in to this reporting to store and transmit donor Social Security Numbers (SSNs) to the IRS. The nonprofit community is taking security to heart, and doesn’t underestimate the difficulties of linking personal data with SSNs throughout the life of these transactions.

While Community IT Innovators participates in #GivingTuesday primarily as donors, we like to keep abreast of the technology innovations that empower secure mobile giving, the growth of international cyber Monday and #GivingTuesday, and other IT support issues our clients may encounter on the biggest giving day of the year. This year we are interested to see how the new real-time dashboard streaming donation data Blackbaud and Microsoft are promising to present tomorrow turns out.

Community IT concentrates mainly on IT services and support and leaves social media to other consultants – but often there is an overlap, or technology questions the IT team can help answer.

SharePoint is designed and controlled by the organization, so that documents are both findable and discoverable.
